random

There has really been nothing going on this past week, just going through the motions in order to make it to Thanksgiving Break.

We leave tomorrow afternoon and it couldn't come soon enough. Except for the fact that I am working everyday that I am home I'm pretty excited about it. It means Christmas is just a little bit closer!

Speaking of Christmas Main Street in Farmville is also getting into the holiday spirit!

Along with my nails, even though I feel like these look like New Years.

FYI: Never ever commit to a glitter polish unless you are okay with using an entire bag of cotton balls and bottle of polish remover and have 45 minutes to commit to remove it.

I spent many afternoons like this. It has been so cold here that you haven't even wanted to leave your room. So well I really haven't. Except of course to go to Walmart to get more marshmallows and candy canes. My Keurig has gotten a lot of use this week.

I tried out a few new Essie polishes this week but I think that Twin Sweater Set is by far my favorite. A great cranberry that is much darker than it looks in person. Definitely will be wearing this a lot during the holidays.

The mail people and I got pretty close this week. I have literally felt like Santa. I've started to get an influx of Christmas gifts for people arriving. I can't wait to get to lug them all home and start wrapping!

Hope everyone has had a good relaxing Monday, as relaxing as one can be!

Happy Birthday!!

This is super late but I figured that it was a well deserved post and the lateness wouldn't really matter!!

A year and a half ago I lost a best friend, my Mom but I quickly learned that even though it was a tragedy I also gained some people in my life that are priceless. One of them being a second Mom to me. Well she had a birthday about a week ago and she deserves a little attention.

Some of you might not be as lucky to know Townley as me so I thought I would share a little about her.

1. She is the gentlest, kindest person I have ever met. She is soft spoken and motherly in every way possible.

2. You can be yourself with her, anywhere and everywhere. She is so real and accepting.

3. She works hard to make home more than just a house we live in, it is home. It is our safe place and our area to be goofy. It wouldn't be that way if she didn't work to make it that way.

4. Miss America loves her almost as much as I do. I have a feeling Townley kind of likes her too!

5. She is a great Mom. The love she has for her kids is amazing and she has accepted me as one of her own. I hope one day that I can be half the Mom she is.

I'm sad that we couldn't spend your day with you and that this is so late! Love you!

Starbucks and Sparkles

We headed home this weekend one last time before the holidays come around. Which I cannot wait for by the way. Lite 98 was playing Christmas music nonstop and Short Pump had their tree lighting. Even though it is not Thanksgiving, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

I spent a lot of time here waiting to get..

 One of these.

I was super excited to get my first holiday cup of the season that I braced mall traffic and waited for about 20 minutes in the most popular Starbucks drive thru line.

It was oh so worth it.

I also spent a little too much time at Target. I seem to always leave with some new Essies in my bag. What can I say, I have found a new addiction.  I'm dying over my new sparkly one, so festive.

It is official that the Johnston family is obsessed with Breaking Bad. I was super sad for about three days after I finished it up on Netflix. I think my Dad might go into denial as well.

Hope everyone had a great Monday!

5

1. I miss my dog so much that is is crazy. I actually had a ten minute conversation with a professor today showing her pictures of America. I was that person with my phone swiping my finger across the screen like a proud stage parent. No shame.

2. I am trying so hard not to check out mentally of school. I think I can. I think I can.

3. I can't believe that November is half way over, where has this semester gone?!

4. I need Thanksgiving to recharge in order to kick it into high gear for exams.

5. It snowed here today!! Yes it was just a few flurries but I take that as a go ahead to start playing my Michael Buble Christmas music.

Happy Tuesday!!
(oh my gosh it's only Tuesday)

Happy Happy Birthday Grandma

Happy Birthday to a great Grandma!
I'm so super blessed to have you in my life, you are a true gift!

I want to celebrate you by sharing a few ways of how fabulous you are with everyone else!

1. You always have candy on your counter, I can always count on you.

2. Grandma is the sweetest, most loving, gentle southern lady. I'm telling you she can make you feel better with just one phone call.

3. She gives the BEST advice. She can make any situation seem better than what it is.

4. She is so spunky. She is literally like a teenager. Grandma can out shop me anyday.

5. Speaking of shopping. She LOVES to shop, a girl after my own heart! She also wears really cute clothes which is always a plus!

6. Don't mess with Grandma and her make up, you know she loves you when she will take you to the emergency room once she has taken her face off!

I hope you have a great day and know that I love you very much!

Anniversary Weekend: Parks and P.F Changs

We had the best weekend. It was great weather, fall like but a little warmer than normal. It was relaxed and spent with those who are oh so important.

I gave Shellac another try, I'm liking it right now. It was a great burgundy. We will see how long it lasts.

Gertrude got sprayed by a skunk last week. She has now had three tomato baths and is still smelling up our house.

On Saturday, we took Miss America to the park. She was super excited, I've never met a dog that loves car rides more than her. We made a pit stop at Chick Fil A and headed on.

The trees are just so gorgeous. It was so nice to get my camera out of its bag. These shots were actually taken by Caleb while I was in the bank.

Paul Marchetti's new addition to his car. Love

My loves

We ended the weekend finally getting around to celebrating our anniversary. We decided that we didn't want to fight the crowds and ordered take out to bring home.

These Richmond sunsets don't get much better.

We ended the night with a fire pit and some smores. My kind of evening.

A little shout out to JoJo for telling us about this creation. I think that we will be a new smores tradition.

xoxo
Happy Tuesday! Bundle Up!

And it has arrived

Coming back home after being away at school for two short weeks showed me one thing for sure. Fall has officially arrived in Richmond. It was beautiful all weekend long.

More to come later.
