Carter's Mountain and Candy Apples

It was a fun filled weekend to say the least.
It was the perfect mix.
Plenty of time to relax along with the right amount of things to do.
Friday I headed to HSC to retrieve Caleb for a surprise visit home.
We spent Friday night at home with a little Chick fil A and Ray's (Our favorite).

Saturday we headed up to Charlottesville.
We went to Carter's Mountain and it was a perfect day.
It was a gloomy cloudy day in Richmond.
But it was the exact opposite in Charlottesville.
We were pleasantly surprised by the sunshine and warm temps when we arrived.
It was no doubt a zoo.
I cannot imagine what it would be like when there wasn't a hurricane on the way to keep many at home.
We were there for about two hours.
We walked through the orchards and picked a bag of apples along with just wondering around.
I was in heaven with my camera, it was definitely a picture perfect place.
Something I am thinking we should make routine in the fall.
And because they have my favorite apple cider doughnuts.

After we left Carter's we decided to drive around for a little while.
After our detour of Charlottesville we finally reached Monticello.
Which we proceeded to find out that we couldn't even walk the ground without buying thirty dollar tickets each.
No worries. though. Caleb was mighty impressed with the visitors center, asking if we could just walk around it.

We headed back home just in time for dinner.
Any meal by Mrs. Marchetti is good but pasta with Mr. Marchetti's Italian sausage was just what we all needed.
After dinner it was time to make candied apples.
I must add that we went to multiple grocery stores just so Caleb could make these.

We ended the night with the couch a Red Box movie, What to Expect When Expecting.
It was pretty funny, much better than Bad Teacher Cameron Diaz.

Sunday was definitely the definition of a lazy morning.
Which was just what we needed.
It was cold and rainy.
Caleb headed back to Farmville later that afternoon and I headed home.

It was a good fall weekend full of everything we love.

P.S. I think we are all pretty thankful that Richmond missed a hard hit from hurricane Sandy. Prayers go out to New York and New Jersey

Falling Into Place

It is officially fall around here.
The leaves have changed to the point where I cannot drive anywhere without being in awe.
I finally have my fall clothes out and have been needing them on the crisp mornings.
This past week was hot, summer hot.
80 degrees during the last week of October is just wrong.

This weekend it is supposed to be cooler.
Much cooler actually along with a chance of a hurricane.
See what I mean?!
That doesn't make any sense either.
Here is to praying that it misses us!
( I don't do well without power)

This week has been pretty relaxing.
I have been busy getting into a routine and creating a schedule for my school work.
I have to admit it has been pretty nice sitting on the back porch doing my homework watching the leaves fall and the dog play.
Doesn't get much better than that.

Happy Friday!!

InstaPost

Krispy Kreme was my addiction in Greenville. I just couldn't resist.

I absolutely love my new iPhone case! Kate Spade started making new cases and I think they are better quality than the previous ones.

(Plus it was free due to a previous one breaking! Even better!)

Lunch with Aunt Margaret

My new addition, I love them and am dying for it to rain.

Perfect Saturday nights.

Beautiful Richmond that I have missed so dearly

My gift from Momma Linda! I love it and cannot wait to get it framed.
Thank You!!

Nothing wrong with a little OJ from a mason jar

Miss America snoozing just how I like her

Tides are changing

I am a strong believer in "everything happens for a reason". It has gotten me through many tough times in my life. Lately I have been absent on here just because my mind has been in overload. I haven't had time to be creative or had anything really good to share with ya'll.

Last Friday I came home from ECU, for good. Sometime things don't work out they way you except them to. You learn what works for you and what doesn't. Everyone has their place. Their place where they are happy, comfortable, where they cannot wait to go back. ECU was not that for me. I am finishing the rest of my semester at home, in Richmond. After Christmas (I cannot wait for Christmas, they had trees out at Costco today) I will be headed down to Farmville to attend Longwood!

I am so excited, more excited than I have been in awhile! I think that it will be a good fit for me. It is a lot smaller and closer to home which will hopefully be exactly what I need. I am looking forward to being a Lancer!

Thank you Mama Linda!

Everyone came home this weekend and it was oh so good! It felt just like summer with Caleb and I, Jordan and Reid, and Michie. Friday night was spent hanging out at the Koebel's house, which is always entertaining. It always feels like I am home and always begins with me taking my gummy vitamins. Plus it was so nice to finally sleep in my own bed...for good!

Saturday Caleb and I met Aunt Margaret at Brio for lunch. It was so good! Good food and great company. We hadn't seen her in awhile and it was great to catch up. Thanks Aunt Margaret!

Saturday night consisted of Glory Days (tastes even better when you haven't had it in awhile) and a fire pit along with a visit to the Derrs who we always love spending time with. Probably one of the most loving down to earth families that I know.

Sunday was PUMPKIN CARVING. It was so fun! I haven't carved a pumpkin in forever. I must add that Caleb did not help because he "didn't want to get his hands gooey".

It was a long weekend that went by way too fast but we soaked up every second of the warm October weather. Ready for a little chill to come back in the air!!

Happy Tuesday!

What A Week

This week ran me over.
It was only three days!
Why did it feel like 15 and that it was never going to end?
I had two exams this week, one Thursday and one this afternoon.
Today is Chemistry...we all know how good I am.
It has actually become a family joke since sophomore year.
(I am still not majoring in it Papa)

Recently I've spent my days with flashcards in one hand and a Diet Coke in the other.

Due to my lack of spare time everything from my camera to cleaning has not been a priority.
No pictures this week.
I barely even used Instagram.
I have a pile of laundry in my room that comes up to my knees.
(It is still on the floor Aunt Peggy!)

I was hoping it was going to be all down hill from today but I was wrong!
Boy I was wrong.
I have two more exams next week, Monday and Tuesday.
Its gonna be a flashcard and Diet Coke weekend!
Definitely learning you have to work hard to play hard!

P.S. Dear Mr. Trashman, You always decide to pick up the trash at 6 a.m. on the nights I decide to leave my window open. Go away. At least until 8.

Happy Friday!

Home, HSC, and a Happy Girl

Fall Break is over and Autumn is just starting to really set in.
It was so good to be home for more than two days.
I got to relax and enjoy myself.
Along with spending time with so many people that I love.

Friday night Liz and I headed straight up to Hampden Sydney right after dinner.
Right after Robbie got to dress out with Varsity!!!
Our visit to Farmville got cut a little short, Saturday morning we had to bring Caleb back to Richmond for a doctors appointment.
Little did we know that would mean a weekend in Richmond for him!

Saturday afternoon I scored a personal victory.
Something that I thought would never happen nor would I ever achieve.
Caveman Caleb finally shaved the beard!!

Mr. Comedian

Just how I like him!

Saturday night we had a couple friends over.
It was the perfect night for a fire pit and SMORES!
With temperatures in the low 50's, jeans and a sweatshirt were perfect.
And of course Miss America ate up all of the extra attention.

It was so good to spend some time with the Marchetti's.
I miss my second family so much when I am gone.
Sunday morning I woke up to the smell of bacon and pancakes.
Which means one thing..
Mr. Marchetti is up!
He is practically famous for his Sunday morning breakfasts.

Caleb headed back to HSC and Monday was a lay low day.
It was full of packing away summer clothes and getting out winter.
Along with some napping and good food!

A good Fall Jeep ride!

Mimi's Pound Cake...yum!

It was a great Fall Break!
Now to a week of catch up on school work!
Here's to the next weekend!!

TGIF!

It has been a busy week around here, proven by my absence on here.
During the day everyone does their own thing, goes to their classes, but we all tend congregate during the evenings.
We have a lobby on the first floor of our building and it has recently become our second home.

Sarah and I had a big problem this week.
A BIG one!
We were guilty of going to Krispy Kreme multiple times.
They are just so good!
AND
They have come out with their seasonal doughnuts!
From black and orange sprinkles to PUMPKIN SPICE (we all know I have a problem)

I am going home today!! I couldn't be happier. I am getting the last things packed up and am ready to hit the road! I am ready to be home and head to HSC!

Have a good weekend!
