Merry Merry

Christmas was oh so good this year, I am so blessed to have the family that I do. We had a great day that was super relaxed that started at home and ended with both sides of the family.

Unfortunately Jake and Kristen weren't able to make it home but we all still got to celebrate together.

Love this so much, the Marchettis gave me this and I know I will have it forever.

Ben and his long deserved toy helicopter.

Caleb and his 2013 ornament, we all decided that he came in like a wrecking ball this year hehe.

My fabulous Longwood ornament.

America got a new puppy so she can act like her little mommy self.

Duck Dynasty here we come.

The beautiful kissing ball that Ginny made.

After relaxing at home and playing with all of our new toys we got dressed and headed over to the other sides of the family. Unfortunately I didn't take too many pictures.

Caleb, Aunt Margaret, and I.

I hope everyone had as Merry of Christmas as myself and my family did!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is always with my Mom's family, ever since I can remember it is when we have done Christmas. It is literally the only time during the year that all of us are in one place at the same time.

My Aunt Peggy works so hard to make it so nice for all of us so I send a big thank you to her! She made TONS of food and treats and it was all delicious! I even took a huge bag of left overs home that were practically eaten the same evening.

The food was wonderful and so was the family. Sorry for the crappy pictures!

Johnston Christmas '13

My Dad came into town a little early for the holidays this year. He had to be back in Houston for actual Christmas so we celebrated (sort of) a little early this year.

We did our usual relaxed family get together, ate lunch, and exchanged cards. Nothing over the top.

It is so unusual to have all of us in the same place, from living in Houston to Lexington this only happens about once a year.

It was a gorgeous day and the food was fabulous. Unfortunately I did not take too many pictures, I guess I was too busy enjoying the day.

We usually don't do gifts, we really haven't done anything big in a few years. The past three years I have drove by the street my Dad and his brother grew up on daily. I finally stopped this year and took a picture of their street sign. I got them printed and framed and they loved it. A sentimental success in my book.

More to come later!

Holiday Blues

I LOVE Christmas, it is the best time of the year but I hate how so much effort gets put into it from the gifts to the decorations and then it is over in one day. It makes me sad and I always feel blue for the few days after.

I'm currently behind on sharing all things Christmas related with y'all and it might take me a few days to get everything ready to share but I figured I would get a little bit of a start.

These were all taken before Christmas.

These are my all time favs, love a good roll out sugar cookie.

Miss America and Caleb waiting in the car while I finish up some shopping, see why I keep them around?!

After our long day of shopping we picked up some P.F. Changs. I always forget how much I love their lettuce wraps.

So many treats were made during the season, I'm a little nervous for my upcoming dentist appointment.

The last of my shopping, I'm proud to say that I finished before Christmas Eve.

I hope that everyone had as great of a holiday as myself and my family did! I will be sharing more later!

Holidays at the Palmens

I got in a quick visit with my Mom's parents (Nana and Papa) and my Aunt Peg this past week.
We relaxed, visited, and baked some holiday treats. I love my Nana's house during Christmas time, it is just so festive and is always done so nice with so many little details.

Even though it is in the 60's today outside it still feels like it is almost Christmas inside this house!

Love love their house all light up at night

Happy Holidays!!
