And I'm Still Catching Up...

This week has been a good one, the first part of Spanish is officially over and I cannot explain how happy I am. I'm definitely ready for it to be over completely and not have to worry about it but knowing that I'm halfway there makes it a little easier. I now have a new teacher as of Tuesday and I must say that I really miss Carlos, he was a riot and always had some sort of commentary to add. They say you never realize how good you have it and it is so true!

Carlos was showing us his "sexy legs" that he shows off at the pool in his "swim trunks". He told me that he would sue me if this ever made this to the internet so hopefully he doesn't read too many blogs.

After finishing A Fault in Our Stars last week I rushed after work to see the movie. At first I couldn't believe that I was going to see a movie alone but I was so glad that I did. I cried the ENTIRE time along with everyone else in the theater. The people behind me actually had to leave because their daughter was sobbing so hard. The movie definitely lived up to the book which is something I usually don't say, a must go and a must read!

I was out in Mechanicsville yesterday visiting with my Mom's parents and had to make a pit stop at the Sno Shack. I practically grew up at this little shed on the side of the road that makes the best slushies in the entire world. When I was in elementary school I would beg my Mom everyday to go after school, Little Mermaids became my obsession. Obviously I'm still having a hard time trying other things :)

The weather has been super HOT and humid lately. While I'm definitely a summer girl I'm so over this weather and it isn't even July yet. I do try and get a walk in the morning or once I'm home at night once you can't fry eggs on the driveway. In a way it is just my alone time to process my thoughts and the day, I have really been enjoying it.

And last but not least, I got a Ninja this week and to say that I'm obsessed is an understatement. I'm trying to fit in some more fruits and veggies in my diet, smoothies seem to be doing the trick! Definitely happy with it and think that it will be great at school!

Happy Thursday!! Which only means that I have no class tomorrow!

Father's Day and a River Weekend

This weekend was oh so good. It was the first weekend that I haven't worked since being back home from school and I would definitely say that it was extremely over due.

Friday night I went and saw 22 Jump Street with some work friends and it was actually hilarious. I'm always a little weary about sequels but I must say that this one was just as good as the first.

I love my work people, after awhile they truly do become a little family.

Saturday morning we got up early and headed for the river. To say that the weather was gorgeous would be a complete understatement. For the past 10 or so days we had some nasty weather with some pretty bad storms in the evenings so I think everyone was pleasantly surprised.

We had a graduation party to go to on Saturday. It was a day filled with family, friends, good food, and CRABS!

And of course everyone got in some baby snuggles!

Sunday morning, Father's Day we met Paul at The Local (his favorite spot) and I must say that even though I couldn't spend the day with my own Dad there is no other family that I would want to spend it with!

After breakfast we all headed back to the house to enjoy some pool and relaxation time.

I would say my view was pretty good!

Pappy got in some snuggles too!

While Lawter slept most of the time while we were at the river I think many including myself sat there and just watched her sleep. Adorable!

I also started and finished A Fault in Our Stars by John Green this weekend and it was the best book that I have read in awhile. Definitely a tear jerker but one that you cannot put down. Can't wait to finally see the movie now that I'm done!

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! Stay cool!

Summer Time and Catching Up

I already feel like I'm going to have a hard time keeping this blog updated throughout the summer and we are only on week 5.

I'm currently taking a summer class (spanish..blah) and it is somewhat kicking my butt. I think that most know languages are not my thing, I went through four in my four years in high school and knew that I couldn't conquer and be successful at college level so hello J.Sarge summer classes. In all honesty it is not that bad, 75% of the class is Longwood students and our teacher is pretty fabulous. It makes for a decent Monday-Thursday afternoons but it definitely takes up the majority of my time.

I'm still getting in some hours at Saxon in the afternoons and evenings but I must say that once I get home at night after school and Saxons I'm pretty tired, crawl in bed, and wait until the morning to do it all over again. I know that I will be happy to have these classes behind me come the fall.

Even being super busy some fun things have still been going on around here and life has still continued.

Last week was the 2nd anniversary of my Mom's passing and I can't say that we did anything super fun, I actually worked but it was a good day spent remembering someone that we love and miss oh so much.

Last week all of Caleb's family was in town, which is a rare occasion since we are spread from Florida to Richmond. It was a good day, something that I know we all wish could occur much more often.

Please excuse my outfit and "Sunday Morningness"

And I got some snuggles in with Caleb's adorable niece Lawter, she is the absolute cutest (no we are not partial).

I had a rough afternoon last week so I stopped by for some snuggles with my own baby girl. We ate some Lucky Charms and watched some Real Housewives, she knows the way to a girls heart.

I also got an early birthday surprise in the mail. Totally in love and have worn it everyday since! It was definitely a lovely addition to my stack!

Summer has officially arrived. One night I decided to stop by Ray's which is one of my summer spots. I get so sad when close after Labor Day and so excited when they reopen.

I guess I forgot how big their portions are because I ordered a medium cone and it was literally huge, I ended up tossing a lot because I was afraid I was going to get sick. And I must say that it is odd for me to give up or throw away sweets!

I think that is a pretty good catch up for now!!
