Life

To say that life has been crazy this October would be a complete understatement. October is always my favorite, it is the true welcoming of fall. This October kind of disappointed me, the cooler temps are still arriving and I just didn't have the normal time to enjoy it.

I think that we have had one outdoor fire pit and have yet to turn on the fireplace inside. I live for cozy and October is letting me down! It was 85 degrees here today, let me tell you my lilly white legs are no longer looking nice in shorts. I'm waiting for November to allow my sweaters to make their come back.

It took long enough but out trees around campus are finally starting to change. They are just so beautiful, I'm known for leaving quite early for class but you cannot complain when you have such a view.

Lots of things have happened recently including Fall Break, Stubbs Re-Opening, and a Sisterhood event.

I picked up this gem at the Coach outlets in Williamsburg while home.

Some of our very talented Sisters decided to decorate our bulletin board to make it cozy and to welcome our many alum that came to see our new building.

This past week I picked up my very favorite letters, it has taken me FOREVER to find the Sigma Kappa Lilly fabric and I finally found it on Etsy. You better believe that I gave Helen a visit.

Obsessed is a complete understatement.

On a more somber note , unfortunately some medical issues have been going on in my family. All thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. Sadly it often takes situations such as mine to make families rally together and remember the things that are actually really important in life. It has allowed me to take into perspective what is actually important and what are things that should be let go of, I must say that I am very thankful for that.

And I am very thankful for these two. There are no words for the love I have for them.

Like I said, when we rally we do it right. We made some posters for my Nana with familiar faces to cheer her on while she kicking some butt getting stronger!

And then to leave with something we should always remind ourselves of!

Catching Up

To say that this past week and a half has been a whirlwind would be an understatement. Everyday has been jam packed with things and I have looked forward to 6 o'clock to just relax.

But to back up a little bit, I ended up heading home last weekend for some family reasons and got some good time in with them along with getting some things checked off of my to do list.

I got in a much needed pedi!

I brought in the Fall with Essie, Better Sweater. One of my faves!

I can't say that this was my first PSL of the season but it was one of the firsts of many. They are always better than I remember!

There was some P.F. Changs take out in between crossing errands off of my mile long to do list.

Izzy got a new Alex & Ani! Lets just say that she was pretty surprised!

It has been a little chilly here in the mornings but I cannot say that I'm not enjoying it. The weather does need to make up its mind though, today is was in the 80s.

I know that my Dad reads this on occasions so if you see this, thank you for being so awesome. I'm super blessed with a phenomenal Dad that goes out of his way to make my life easier and I thank God everyday for him. He is awesome and deserves some recognition.

Today marks the end of Fall Break, it was much needed for sure!

Falling for Fall Break

Fall has officially arrived here in Farmville and it was very much so welcomed!!

Lots of things have gone around here lately and looking back on the past few weeks life has really been just a blur.

We had our first open house of the year and it was fantastic! Our continuing membership chair, Ashley did an awesome job and her hard work really shined through!

I headed home the spend a weekend visiting my family! My Aunt Peggy and I spent a rainy Saturday putsing around shopping, we stopped and got lunch at one of our favorite spots, Kabutos! This will always one of my favorite RVA restaurants no matter how inconvenient it may be.

He didn't do the onion volcano :(
Our sorority composite proof arrived this week and I think that the pictures turned out fabulous! Cannot wait to get mine in my hands!

My Mom weighed heavy on my mind this past week. I found myself often thinking about her and many of my dreams revolved around her. It was nice to have some smiles brought on by her but I still miss her so.

Message from above?
A few of my sisters and myself went to Theta Chi's suicide prevention candlelight last week which obviously touches my heart. I lit my candle for my wonderful Mom, who we continue to miss and love each day. It was a nice reminder to be so grateful for the things that we have in life. We are all so so lucky.

I picked up my FAVORITE mix from TJ's this week and could not control myself, I made it the same night. I love to have a piece in the morning before classes with juice. Definitely high up on the breakfast faves this week!

I hope that everyone has a great week!

The countdown to Fall Break has begun!
