this&that

One more week until Summer and I'm finally free for a little while! Thank the lord above, I've never been so ready for some sunshine in my life. I'm counting down the days until I get on the plane. Even though I know I'll be back to the real world before I know it. While I daydream about sunshine and being near the water I'm constantly reminding myself to come back to reality just for a little longer.

Molly had a birthday this week, one that she has been reminding us about for quite awhile!! It gave me an excuse to use all of the embarrassing pictures I have of her stock piled on my phone. Love you Muff, I'm so thankful for you everyday. Cannot wait to be neighbors!

The last CHI walk of the year was this week, the burning will be on Wednesday. I get a little too excited over this, it is definitely my favorite Longwood event of the year. It is definitely built up and it never disappoints, they read commendations for students and faculty throughout the burn.  It really reminds you what a close knit community we are and it makes me so thankful to go here.

I headed home on Friday to take my first load of junk back. I'm always surprised by how much crap I own/don't use, I really need to take a trip to Goodwill soon. Every single year I say that I'm not going to take nearly as much stuff to school but it never happens. Sadly I usually start taking stuff home in April so it isn't too overwhelming come May.

It was a quiet/wet weekend spent unpacking, running some errands, and spending a little with my Grandpa. We went to church and had a little Panera. I love anytime that I can get with him, he is a pretty special guy.

I started reading The Girl on the Train this weekend and it is so good. I'm almost done with it and I'm kind of sad, it was really similar to Gone Girl which I also loved. It was nice to be able to actually read something that I chose and or enjoy, that is one thing that I adore about summer. I could read my life away by a pool. I'm ready for more days spent relaxing on the porch.

I lavalierred Amy tonight and it was a success, well at least I think she was surprised. She had a rough week with one too many things due, Sigma Kappa stuff, and a big dance show coming up. I'm pretty proud and am so lucky to have such a fabulous Little!

Someone sent this to me recently and it really made me think. We often spend too much time worrying about what others think instead of making ourselves happy.

A new week a new outlook!

Happy Birthday Papa!

Happy Birthday to one of my very favorite people in this world, my Papa. I'm so sad that I wasn't able to be there with everyone to celebrate you on your special day. I hope that you enjoyed yourself, know that I was thinking about you!!

My Papa holds a special place in my heart, one that isn't replaceable. He has always stood beside me no matter what, supporting me even if the route I chose wasn't the best option (trust me, he told me too). He has taught me what hard work and dedication look like and that it is unacceptable not have have both. He is living proof of what a family and a husband should be. For those I am thankful and honored to be his granddaughter.

Here is to many more birthdays!!

Life Lately

Spring has finally arrived and it is so nice to not have to wear a heavy coat and socks everywhere!! With Spring arriving my allergies are currently in full swing, I made the mistake of sleeping with my window open last night and have been feeling it all day...learned my lesson.

I just adore Longwood, it really is home and I'm so blessed to have that in my college experience. Having transferred here from ECU I know what it feels like to not enjoy school, it doesn't hurt that it is awfully pretty too (even though the grass is currently looking a little rough).

Sigma Kappa had family weekend a few weeks ago and it was so so good! My Dad came all the way from Houston and it made my heart so happy to have him there. It was a good day to say the least and it really reminded me how lucky I am. I really do have the best Dad out there, I don't tell him this often enough...I know he reads this on occasions!

Sigma Kappa had Date Party the next week and let me tell you, the best date is no date. I love my girls, tons of fun to say the least.

If I had to pick one thing about Longwood that I absolutely adore it would most likely be CHI. I'm slightly obsessed and I kind of love how it is a little bit creepy. We had a CHI walk last week and it was fabulous as usual. With the semester coming to an end the burning is coming up to reveal the senior members.

Just a little funny before a test last week.

Rays is life in the warmer months. Literally it is something that I look forward to on March 1st every year. I've had to cut back because I'm pretty sure I was going to be a diabetic 20 year old. I got some this weekend and it was so good.

I went home this weekend for Easter and one of my sisters came up for the day on Saturday. We did a little shopping and got some lunch. We went to Tara Thai, I always forget how much I love Thai. I think I could alternate Thai and Mexican and be a pretty happy girl.

I spent some time with my girl yesterday on campus and she just makes me heart so happy. There is nothing like the love you get from a dog. She had a birthday last week, it is hard to believe that she is 4 now! I miss her tons and don't get to see her nearly enough.

I wish I could say that I haven't procrastinated for 2 weeks on writing a paper but then I would be lying.

Happy Tuesday!!
