Its Okay...

That I continue to slack off on here.

That I might have been in bed until 4:30 today watching movies.

That my heat refuses to work...especially when it is 30 degrees outside.

That I've eaten three bags of hard boiled eggs in a week.

That I'm really missing my Mama this week and all of the advice that came with her.

That I'm a home body and I'm starting to miss my people.

That I can barely contain my excitement of finding out who my little is on Tuesday.

That I currently have paint on most of my clothes and all of my furniture from crafting.

That the excitement of my weekend was clean sheets and several loads of laundry.

That America had a spa day at Petsmart this week because we don't like to bathe her ourselves.

That the man at the post office knows me on a first name basis, I'm a frequent visitor.

That we all have bad weeks

And that I just vented

Recruitment 2015

It has taken me awhile to get the energy to create this post but I wanted to make sure that it got the time that it deserved. This year was the first time that I went through recruitment on the other side and it was so different. I would say that it was different in a good way, just a completely different experience than going through recruitment yourself. It honestly made me so thankful that I will never have to find my home again, it is so exhausting/rewarding at the same time.

We welcomed some amazing new women that are already adding so much to our chapter. We were so excited and anxious to welcome them home. I'm always amazed how people always end up in the right place, the place that they belong. During recruitment everyone always says "you will know when you find your home", as cliche as it sounds it is so true.

I made some new relationships with people that I was not necessarily super close with before recruitment, I take that away as a blessing from this process #pc4l.

It was a weekend for the books and a fabulous start to the semester!! I cannot wait to see what Delta Nu accomplishes these next few months. When they say that these girls become your family they aren't lying.

Back To The Grind

Well now that recruitment is over life is back to the daily routine. I've come to the conclusion that it is one of the best weekends of the year but it takes everything out of you. A couple good nights of sleep were definitely needed to get back to my normal self. School started on Tuesday and I'm very pleased with my classes, I definitely have a good schedule for the rest of the year.

While nothing too big has been going on around here I'm still trying to keep this as up to date as possible.

I think my favorite Christmas present was this shadow box with one of my Nana's spoons and recipes. The recipe happened to be a pie that my Mom used to make for every family function. Things like this are my favorite, something that I cannot wait to hang in my own kitchen one day! Thanks Aunt Ging!

Our tickets are booked! Isabelle and I are officially heading to Seattle in February!

Some days you tend to forget how lucky you actually are. When I got these pictures from my Grandparents on New Years, the same people that didn't come home until 2 a.m. I don't think I could love anyone anymore than these two!

This book sucked. I was super excited to read it, I just couldn't get into it..at all. I made it about half way through and decided not to torture myself anymore.

My family thinks that they are hilarious, which most of the time they give me a pretty good laugh. Lets just say this was not my first rodeo at driving school so a few balloons and a congratulations card were definitely in order.

I really missed my girl this week, I'm telling you there is a perfect spot at the end of my bed just waiting for her. Cannot wait to get some snuggles in with her!

Just a little peak at recruitment!

So so happy for this three day weekend! Cannot wait to celebrate one of my favorites tomorrow as we finally go get her wedding dress!!

Happy Friday!!

New Year Goals

I'm not particularly fond of New Years "resolutions" but I always find myself trying to set them for myself when the first week of January rolls around. The past couple of years I've tried to make a few "lifestyle changes" that correspond with some goals I have for myself throughout the year.

This past week I read a wonderful book: Carry On, Warrior. It really allowed me to do some much needed soul searching and gave me such a good outlook for the new year. A definite must read for those who haven't in 2015!

My Goals for 2015: Realistic and Not-So Realistic

1. Embrace what you have and stop trying to change it. I'm vowing to put down the flat iron twice a week (have to start out slow) and introduce the world to my curls.

2. Actually keep up with this blog. I have my moments were I think nobody reads it but then I get that text from someone that read that day (usually my Father) and it is what keeps me going.

3. Spend more time outside. Whether it is taking a walk or getting the mail. It is so much more refreshing than going to the gym.

4. Call home more often. Most know that my family lives all over and I often feel guilty when I get an e-mail from someone who hasn't heard from me asking how I'm doing. How pathetic is that? I'm wanting to make the time to check in with those who I love the most.

5. Read more books. This does not mean that they have to be intellectual (sappier/trashier the better) but there is nothing better than being indulged into a whole new world known as fiction.
